3 Ways Guest Posting Can Help Grow Your Online Audience

3 Ways Guest Posting Can Help Grow Your Online Audience

I'm writing guest posts like crazy these days. In fact, I have more than ever before, in fact, in six years of steady blogging. Apart from my commitment to regularly post on this blog, it is an investment of considerable time.

I believe guest posting is one of the most important strategies to increase your blog readership and platform. Let me explain.

What is a guest posting?

Guest posting (or guest blogging) is writing and publishing an article on someone else's website, and the articles written in this case are called guest posts.

And why do people do guest posting? - They can get more traffic to their website and increase brand presence. The traffic coming from such sources is known as referral traffic.

There are three reasons why guest posting is such an important strategy for every blogger to make an impact online:

Guest posting builds relationships

Bloggers need good content. By being a good guest blogger and adding value to someone else's blog, you are going to build relationships with other bloggers.

Bloggers make up a large percentage of the conversations that take place on the Internet, especially on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. They can be tremendously influential. By which they become good friends.

By making friends with other bloggers through guest posting, you are going to increase your influence in the realm of social media, which will eventually lead to more blog subscribers.

Guest posting is great for search engines

For guest posting, you must have a non-negotiable:

The host we blogger should embody a link to your blog somewhere within the post (usually at the start or end).

Over time, these backlinks will increase the value of your blog to search engines, making your content easier to find through Google, Yahoo, Bing, and more.

Guest posting introduces you to new people

Perhaps, the simplest part of guest posting is that it permits you to enter the Associate in Nursing already-established community and share your message. It allows you to connect with new people, which can ultimately benefit you if you do it the right way.

If you're adding value to the discussion, you'll see it translate into more readers, fans, and followers over time. Conversely, if you're only asking or selling, you can be famous, but with a reputation, you don't want to. (You don't desire to be "that guy" driving his own agenda.)

Add value. help people. Be patient. And over time, you will win.

What about people guest-posting on your site?

I'm also a fan of allowing other people to guest post on my site from time to time. You should also consider offering guest posting on your blog (if you don't already).

If you're seeking opportunities to guest post on others' blogs, that's understandable. This allows the relationship you develop with the host blogger to be reciprocal.

Some bloggers will even blog about their guest posts and link to their blog (giving you some great link juice). Personally, I am an admirer of this observation.

The first rule of being a decent guest

When I guest post for somebody else, I do the following:

  • Link to post from my blog

  • Promote it on Twitter (multiple times)

  • Thank you person

  • Stay tuned to the post and reply to comments

While not everybody will do this, it isn't a nasty plan. However, this can be important: If you've got to settle between obtaining individuals to guest post on your website or guest posting elsewhere, do the latter. it is often higher to induce your name out into new communities.

Guest posting matters

According to my friend Mike the Search Engine Guru, when it comes to SEO, guest posting on other sites is five times more valuable than creating new content on your own site. (As Big as you get the link.)

I don't care whether it's true or not. (However, Mike isn't an exact type of guy, so maybe he is.) The point is, this is an excellent strategy for increasing your reach and growing your reputation online.

Also, if you're a writer looking to find more "traditional" publishing opportunities, it's a great first step to eventually getting your writing featured on news sites, magazines, and other publications.

If you are not satisfied with your blog traffic but are not posting on other people's blogs, then you don't have much to complain about. Start guest posting today, and watch your influence grow.
